After going MANY years thinking that the risks of motorcycling outweighed the fun and practical benefits of motorcycle ownership, I believe I've had a change of heart. Curtis has long wanted one. I can't say for sure why, but I now think it sounds fun. And practical. I looked up a basic motorcycle safety class and Curtis and I are hoping to go at the end of the month. They provide motorcycles, helmets, and instruction. If you pass their written and practical tests, they give you a waiver that you take to DMV, who then automatically issues a motorcycle endorsement. We went looking at motorcycles last weekend, which is difficult when you know next-to-nothing about them. Nonetheless, it was fun. We hope to buy one right after we pass the course. We do have a few months in Oregon when the weather is dry and nice, and those months (fingers crossed) will start soon!

Are you having CHiPs envy? :)
This area, especially in summer, seems tailor-made for motorcycles. There are so many things to experience on a bike that you can't feel in a car.
